REASONS Introduction

1. This was a claim for a statutory redundancy payment following the claimant’s dismissal from the respondent Trust. The dispute between the parties was whether the claimant’s entitlement was extinguished because he had, on the respondent’s case, unreasonably refused an offer of suitable alternative employment.
